The 2024 Hart & Co. Kitchen & Laundry Design Awards, presented by Fisher & Paykel, have officially crowned eight winners, showcasing the exceptional talent within Western Australia's design community.
Held at Hart & Co.'s state-of-the-art showroom in Osborne Park, the event drew over 200 industry professionals from design, architecture, and building sectors. With a record number of high-quality entries, this year's competition highlighted a truly outstanding calibre of work.
The judging panel included Jody D’Arcy, photographer, editor, and founder of Havenist; Shayne Le Roy, a nationally awarded building designer; Dean Beament, owner and director of Renew Renovations and Building; Jane Ledger, creative director and owner of Jane Ledger Interiors; and Justin Owen, an architect with more than 20 years of experience.

Double Winners
A standout moment was the dual win in the Zip Water Kitchen Design Excellence (Over $60,000) category, with both Louis Homes / Tenille Teakle andJess O’Shea Designs taking home the prestigious award. This unique tie emphasised the high level of design excellence achieved in WA this year.

Jess O’Shea, Jess O’Shea Designs also took out the top prize as Designer of the Year as well as the honour of gracing the cover of the annual Hart & Co. Magazine launched at the Awards event.

Multiple Award Wins
Sasha Thomasz from Thomasz Design & Construction had an exceptional night, winning both the Schweigen Kitchen Design Excellence (Up to $60,000) and the Franke Laundry Design Excellence categories.

The Fisher & Paykel Outdoor Kitchen Design Excellence awards once again showcased some of the best in the business, with Nikki Burwash of Tailorhouse Interiors taking home the top honor for her outstanding design work in the category.

The Cosentino People’s Choice Award also sparked excitement, as public voting led to Mata Design Studio being named the crowd favorite among the finalists.
Celebrating the next generation of talent, the Emerging Talent Award for Best Kitchen Design Concept was awarded to Madeleine Gwilliam from North Metro Tafe. This win highlights the incredible potential and fresh perspective that new creatives are bringing to the kitchen design industry.

Hart & Co. Executive Chairman Rick Hart expressed his pride in the awards’ success, acknowledging the creativity and innovation flourishing in WA. Partners like Craig Ibbitson from Fisher & Paykel and Anthony Fletcher from Schweigen also celebrated the event's ability to strengthen the local design community and foster collaboration.
The Hart & Co. Kitchen & Laundry Design Awards continue to serve as the premier platform for recognising WA's finest designers, celebrating both established professionals and emerging creatives.
